Who is the President of the WTS?

how many jws know the name of their current president?.

everyone knows about russell, rutherford, knorr and franz.

most know about henschel but i haven't come across any that know the name of the current pres.. i believe it's don adams - and he doesn't even claim to be one of the "remnant"!

Is this how you have been taught in by the JW's to respond with insults. I did not insult you and will not resort to those type of tactics. I like you do not put my faith in men either. I have learned to grow spiritual without following any organization. How can one defend a group that claims they are spirit directed and still make mistakes??? Myself I was raised as a JW and put all my trust in what the WT said but got disillusioned with them after all their failed prophecies. It’s the old story of the boy that cried wolf. How many times must a person be fooled before one says enough is enough?

How can you have faith in a group of men that told us to put your lives on hold because Armageddon was coming in 1975?? Then after the fact lie and deny they ever said it and blame it all on the rank and file members. Those members that followed such poor advise and gave up everything to pursue someone else’s dream, only to be let down.... They those "old farts" are just a bunch of insignificant lowly educated men that were put in a position of authority. If it wasn't for being on the GB they would have been serving slurpies in a 7 eleven. The emperor has no close on but you are to blind to see it.

however, my brother, even though he never was, and only 14 years old, stills clings to the borg.

or so i thought.. you see, only recently we went to a restaurant, and while me, my brother and 13 year old cousin were eating some good grub, our discussions fell upon *gasp* the jw's.

I can relate to what you are saying but I was never physically beaten although I was abused emotionally. I feel for you and respect the stand you took against what was immoral. Beating and forcing a youth to do something against their will is immoral yet these close minded fanatics think they are doing what’s right. Well it sounds like your mom is paying for what she did. Again the JW's have no concept of what unconditional love is all about. All they know is to make a person feel so low, so insignificant by telling them how worthless we really are. They try to keep us in line by guilt and I found early in life they set a standard that one can never reach. Then more guilt and low self esteem etc. I have now learned to love my self first, something that is against all JW thinking. Most JW are all self hate, have low self-esteem, dysfunctional individuals and the only way to get past this is breaking away from this cult. Good for you and all the best.

From another post it is obvious that the WT has been caught in a big lie. The WT response dated November 1, 2001 they say:

"Our purpose for registering with the Department of Public Information as a nongovernmental organization (NGO) in 1991 was to have access to research material available on health, ecological, and social problems at the United Nations library facilities."

The UN's response dated January 3, 2002 says:

"The issuance of a library pass is independent of NGO status or any other status. There has been no change in the library pass policy in general; however, please be advised that, as a consequence of the September 11 attacks, no library passes are being issued for the time being while the security situation at the UN is being studied."

So it will come down to who we believe here but remember the UN has no reason to lie here where as the WT has. So it looks like the WT/GB has been caught in another lie. Seems like they the GB are getting deeper and deeper in s*** on this one.

Need Help FAST!

my son (who's 15) came home from the meeting last night (he thinks he wants to be a witness, but that's in another thread) and said that his grandmother (my mother-in-law) told him my reason for not going to meetings (the un thing, also discussed in another thread).

he told me that i need to talk to the po about it as he had heard about it a while back and has some information.. hmmmm, me thinks the mom-in-law has been talking to the po about what i told her last week.

i'm sure that i will be getting a shepherding call (a drop-by, unscheduled visit) by him this weekend.

I wish I could find it but I had a hand out that was given to me years ago. It was how to handle yourself in a hearing. If you are asked questions just answer either yes, no or I don't know. Never elaborate because remember anything you say will be used against you. The JW elders are a sleazy bunch of bastards that come across as your friend so that you will open up and tell them how you feel. Then after they will use it against you for disciplinary reasons. Just remember they are representatives of a corporation and their first priority is keeping that corporation or congregation "clean" from undesirables and they don't give a s*** about you as an individual.

If you don't mind then its Ok but just be aware that you have been warned. The spindoctor is right they are good at twisting things and putting a spin on the truth so that by the time they leave they could have you buying anything they say. They like and look forwards to individual's that don't talk back to them because remember they believe they have the truth.

One point I can make, if they admit to the WT/GB making an error then turn it around and say to them, If they are spirit directed, How could they make these error? What does that do for a persons faith in such an organization? I used this argument to a couple of elders once and for the first time I seen a them speechless.

i recall a conversation i once had with my jw uncle about the many doctrinal flip-flops, the blood issue, and how some in the cong.

treated me like @w#$@ even though i was never baptized.. funny, the only thing he could defend himself with was "well, do you know of any other religion that insists on god's name?

" i didn't know of any, so i coudn't really say yes.

I have learned a long time ago from my dear ex brother in law the hypocrite. He was a good elder, got lots of hours in banging on doors telling others how to run their lives but would beat his children. You were Ok in his eyes if you put in lots of service hours but couldn't give you the time of day if he felt you did not meet up to his "high" standards. In my experience this is more of the norm with most JW's. They will only show you love if you do what they want you to do and that also various from JW to JW. They have no concept of what unconditional love is all about.

So true eddie. All religions ultimate goal is to conform a persons independent thoughts to that of the groups thoughts. Group dynamics is to put pressure on an individual for full acceptance of their principals and ethics. That is why dysfunctional people with low self esteem are susceptible to being converted to a groups mentality. They eventually take on this group thinking and are speaking not because they believe it but that the group believes it.
